PASS Tools Update: Harmonics, Symphonics & ATG Connect (October 2026)

Technician Richard in his gold hard hat at a desk, a large screen listing Harmonics, Symphonics and ATG Connect updates all checked green, a PASS poster and mug beside him, under the band October 2026 Tools Updates

Every month we ship a batch of improvements across PASS Tools. October was one of our busiest, with 24 changes, and most of them started with a question from a customer. Here is what is new and better for you and your team.

A few of these landed in the last week of September, after that issue went out, so they're here.

    PASS Harmonics

Registration paperwork now expires on your state's renewal cycle. UST and AST registrations used to have no expiration at all. A registration from years ago never showed as expired, whatever your state required. Each registration now files under a type for its state: Annual, 3 Year or 5 Year. Dates someone typed in by hand were kept. A record with no date got its test date plus the state's cycle. If a registration now shows as expired, your state wants a renewed one on file. Upload the current registration and the item clears. States that only ask for a new registration when equipment changes work as before.

Editing a record keeps the dates you left blank. Saving any change to a paperwork record used to fill in blank expiration and archive dates. If that archive date had already passed, the record left your compliance book the moment you saved. Now only a new record, or a change of paperwork type, fills those dates. The suggested dates still show when you add a new record.

A re-sent test result updates its record instead of making a second one. Some testing companies send the same results to us twice. Between sends, they sometimes rename the subcontractor who did the work. PASS matched on that name, so a rename made a duplicate record of the same test. PASS now ignores the testing company's label on the name when it matches. A re-send updates the record you already have.

Sites set up as AST-only can now add UST tanks and equipment. Some sites loaded through an older bulk import got the aboveground feature only. Those sites could not add a UST tank, vents, a rectifier, monitoring wells or an ATG sensor. Every live site with AST but not UST now has both. The change shows on each site's timeline.

Reviewers can open the results PDF before they approve. The inspection Review page has a new View Draft Results PDF button. Before, the only way to see the PDF was to approve, check it, then reopen the inspection to fix anything. Approving also sends the completion notice, so a quick check could reach the customer early. The button is greyed out for about a minute after sign-off while the PDF is made. Edits made during review appear in the final PDF after you approve.

The Review page flags smart form pages with no answers. A blue note now sits above the review form when a smart form page has nothing filled in. Each blank page is listed as a link, so you can check it before approving. The note never blocks approval. Some pages are left blank on purpose because they don't apply to a site. That is why technicians get no warning at sign-off.

Smart forms keep saving on dropdown pages and when you switch to the camera. A failed save used to wait while a dropdown was open. On a page full of dropdowns, the retry never ran. It runs now, and the red bar appears if saves keep failing. The form also saves the moment you switch away to take photos. Phones often skipped that save before. Saves now run one at a time, so two can no longer collide.

Fixing an earlier smart form no longer rewrites later forms' answers. On a 12-month form, a correction to March has to reach April through December. PASS rebuilds the later forms to carry it forward. That rebuild also reset answers it should never touch, such as a contact name typed in June. Now only the carried-forward values change. Prepop fields, magic fields and anything someone typed stay as they were.

Prepop answers now follow a form through page renames and plan changes. Prepop fields copy from the last completed copy of the same form. PASS found that copy by the page name. Renaming a page, or moving a site to a new plan, cut the form off from its history. PASS now finds the earlier copy by the form itself, within the same equipment system.

Monthly forms now list dispenser sumps along with tank sumps. Monthly forms that list containment sumps showed only the sumps under the tanks. The sumps under your dispensers now appear on the same list.

Your punch list now includes delegated work and every item at clients you manage. The service company Action Item Punch List only counted items from plans you own, or items your users typed in. Work delegated to you never showed. Neither did items at Managed Service Clients. Now the list counts work on plans delegated to you, inspections by your people and items assigned to your users. For a client you manage, you see every action item at their sites. The overdue tile on your dashboard follows the same rule.

Director Managers can add a facility when the company already sits in a region. Director Managers have to pick a region when they add a facility. If the whole company was already in a region, the Region(s) list was empty and the save failed. Now you can leave Region(s) blank. The new facility joins the company's region.

    ATG Connect

The Sensor Status Report shows only readings inside your dates. Our monitoring service starts a new status record for each sensor every week. The old weekly record never got its end date in PASS. A record with no end date counts as still going, so old readings showed up in every date range. About 55,000 of those records on roughly 700 devices were closed out. The report now shows what was true during the dates you pick.

No more false ATG Configuration Changed emails. Every week PASS asks each gauge a batch of questions. Sometimes one answer comes back cut off, with no tank data. PASS read that as "the gauge has no tanks" and emailed a change. The next week the full answer came back and a second false email went out. Each answer now has to pass the gauge's own completeness check. A cut-off answer is ignored, and the false alerts already on file were cleared.

Sensor history stays with the sensor's name when a site is renumbered. After construction, our monitoring service sometimes renumbers a site's sensors. PASS matched sensors by position only, so a renumber filed one sensor's history under another's name. PASS now matches on position and name together. Sites that had been renumbered were repaired. The older compliance records page and its PDF group history by name too.

Reconciliation reports match our monitoring service's dates and show each record's times. Each reconciliation record is now dated by the day it starts, the way our monitoring service dates it. The 7-day, 10-day and monthly worksheets print each record's start and end time under its date. The reconciliation page does the same. A closeout just before midnight can make a day look doubled, or a long window can make one look skipped. The times now show why.

One dropped tank no longer stops a whole site from updating. Sometimes our monitoring service stops reporting a tank that PASS still lists. That used to stop the whole site's sync. Every tank went stale, and the device showed as outdated. PASS now skips that one tank and keeps the rest current.

    Across PASS Tools

One Activity Report adds up to your invoice, line by line. Every invoice in the Billing Portal now has one Activity Report. License Activity lists each site added or removed, who did it, and its prorated amount, with a net total. Billed Facilities lists every billed site and its charge. Its CSV lets you split an invoice across your own cost centers. One-time charges and usage have their own sections, and usage now shows for older subscriptions too. It replaces three older reports, and old links still open it. Some older invoices can only show a partial site list, and the report labels it partial.

Notification emails now show the site's city and state. Most emails PASS Tools sends about a facility now show its city and state under the facility name. That covers alarms, incidents, action items, work orders, inspections and scheduled visits, among others. If your team gets alerts for many sites, you can tell at a glance which site an email is about. Subject lines did not change, so your mail filters still work.

The Paperwork Status box now counts Inconclusive results. Inconclusive results had their own tab on the Paperwork Punch List, but the home page never counted them. They aren't counted as Failed, so they showed up nowhere. The Paperwork Status box now has an Inconclusive line between Expired and Suggestions. Click the count to open the Inconclusive tab of the punch list. It is on both the company and service company home pages.

View Original opens the full-size picture, and each picture downloads on its own. On ATG printouts, View Original used to open a second copy of the printouts page. It now opens the full-size file in a new tab. The picture window also shows the file name, its size and a Download link for that one file. Public compliance book printouts, comment attachments and work order quote previews use the same window and got the same fix.

Two action item downloads gained new columns. The Action Item Punch List CSV now ends with Site Address and Action Item Notes. The Closed Action Items CSV now ends with Site Number on its own. Existing columns kept their place, so saved spreadsheets still line up.

Paperwork imports read archive dates month first. The paperwork import template asks for dates as MM/DD/YYYY. The archive date column read them day first instead. So 12/31/2026 became no date at all, and 03/04/2026 became April 3. It now reads them the same way as the other two date columns.

Password managers stay out of date fields. Date pickers across PASS Tools no longer prompt your password manager to fill in saved names or logins.

    This month's headlines

If you read nothing else: reviewers can see the results PDF before they approve. Registrations now expire on your state's renewal cycle, so a lapsed one finally shows. Every invoice has one Activity Report that adds up to the total. And smart forms keep saving on dropdown-heavy pages and when you step away to take photos.
