Every month we improve PASS Opus, our training platform. Here is what is new for administrators, trainers, and learners in October 2026.

Most of this month's work is inside the courses themselves. Ten courses changed, one state approval came back, and two billing fixes shipped.

    State Approvals

Wisconsin renewed its approval of our Class A/B and Class C operator training. Wisconsin's Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection reviews operator training courses before it approves them. Its reviewer got student access to both courses, then asked for a set of updates to the Class A/B course. We made them, and the approval letter came back on October 16. If you train operators in Wisconsin, nothing changes for you.

    Course Updates

Wisconsin Class A/B operator training now teaches more of Wisconsin's own rules. A new version of the course went live on October 16. Eleven pages were rewritten for Wisconsin. They cover tanks, piping, pumps, spill buckets, release detection and overfill protection, among others. Other pages took the reviewer's changes. They cover temporary closure, permanent closure and reopening, delivery prohibition and when to notify the state. The course is the same length, and the final exam is still 72 questions with an 80% passing score.

Class C operator training now covers state-specific rules in nine more states. Class C operators are the people at the counter who respond first to an alarm or a spill. Until now, much of our Class C course used one national text for every state. In each state below, four pages now teach that state's own rules. They cover Class C operator details, underground storage tanks, red tags and delivery prohibition, and reporting spills. The pages name the state agency and how to reach it, and each page got new narration. The rest of the course is unchanged.

    • Hawaii Class C Operator Training. Names the Hawaii Department of Health and when a spill must be reported to it.

    • Indiana Class C Operator Training. Names the Indiana Department of Environmental Management and its red tag on the fill pipe.

    • Iowa Class C Operator Training. Names the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and its 24-hour release reporting rule.

    • Kansas Class C Operator Training. Names the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the state's spill and hazard hotline.

    • Kentucky Class C Operator Training. Names Kentucky's Division of Waste Management, which regulates tanks in the state.

    • Louisiana Class C Operator Training. Names the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, its red tag rules and its 24-hour spill reporting.

    • Maine Class C Operator Training. Names the Maine Department of Environmental Protection and its spill hotline, which must hear about a spill within two hours.

    • Massachusetts Class C Operator Training. Names the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and its emergency response line.

    • Minnesota Class C Operator Training. Names the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and the State Duty Officer line for reporting spills.

    Billing & Invoices

Invoices and receipts now show sales tax on its own line. Where sales tax applies, it was already being charged. But invoice and receipt PDFs jumped from Subtotal straight to a Total that included it, with no line saying so. Now a Sales tax row shows on invoice and receipt PDFs, the invoice page and the upcoming invoice preview. Past invoices back to spring 2025, when we started collecting sales tax, were updated too.

Companies billed monthly get one invoice for the month again. Companies on monthly billing share one cart that gathers the month's purchases. Right after the monthly close, two page loads at the same moment could each open a new shared cart. From then on, every purchase that month went out as its own invoice. A company can now hold only one open monthly cart, so the month's purchases land on one invoice.

    This month's headlines

If you read nothing else: Class C operator training in Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts and Minnesota now teaches each state's own rules. Wisconsin renewed its approval of our Class A/B and Class C courses, and the Class A/B course was rewritten with the reviewer's changes.
