Home Sweet Home!
Greetings From the National Tanks Conference!
We are back from the National Tanks Conference! Thanks to NEIWPCC, ASTSWMO, and the EPA for co-sponsoring the event. We also need to give a big thanks to the Pennsylvania DEP for hosting the event on their home turf. We had a fantastic time in Pittsburg! Several of us had never been to Pittsburgh before, and this was a fantastic introduction.
Shout out to the people who stopped by our booth and said hi! We had a fantastic time chatting with you. We also would like to thank the regulators who stopped by and said hello. It was nice to finally meet you in person! We would also like to give our congratulations to the regulator from Hawaii who won our prize from the raffle.
Overall, our favorite part had to have been the highly informative sessions. In this year’s conference, we talked a lot about the environmental impact of using water to tightness test sumps and spill buckets, the lingering effects of covid impacting the supply chain and workforce, environmental justice, and the future of our industry.
These sessions gave us a lot to think about, and we are excited to use what we learned. We have got some ideas of how we can help, as well as some best practices to share. So keep an eye out for those upcoming blog posts!
We also talked to regulators about the need to add new technical requirements to online training providers. Training providers should be able to track who they have trained and when. They should also have a public-facing way to verify the authenticity of every certificate issued. These factors should be looked into during the training approval process alongside the accuracy of the content so that we can ensure the integrity of the training. We have a new blog post coming out about this topic, so keep an eye out!
We are already looking forward to the next one! We hope to see you there in 2024!
2022 WJF Golf Outing
We also had a fantastic time at the 4th Annual WJF Golf Outing & Sporting Clays Shoot! As usual, we helped sponsor the event, and we are glad we did. It was nice to see so many familiar faces and participate in a friendly competition. Thanks to the Illinois Fuel & Retail Association for putting on this event!
