February PASS Opus Feature Update

We’ve rolled out a series of enhancements across PASS Opus focused on flexibility, integration, administrative control, and platform stability. Below is a summary of what’s new.

Subscriptions & Billing

User & Account-Based Subscription Billing
Companies can now choose between per-user subscription plans and account-level subscription plans. This provides greater flexibility in how training access is purchased, assigned, and managed across the organization.

LMS Integrations

SCORM 1.2 Package Support
PASS courses can now be exported as SCORM 1.2 packages and imported into any SCORM-compatible LMS. This significantly expands compatibility beyond AICC and simplifies customer-side integrations.

Chapter Progress Reporting to LMS
When launched from an external LMS, PASS now reports individual chapter completion status and overall course progress back to the LMS in real time.

Improved Session Stability in LMS Iframes
Resolved issues where Safari, Edge, and other browsers could lose the user’s session when PASS courses were embedded inside a customer LMS. Sessions now remain active reliably across all major browsers.

Training & Compliance

State-Based Sign-Off Requirements by Category
Company administrators can now configure which states require administrator sign-off for each training category. For example, UST Class C Operator training may require sign-off in Indiana and Ohio but not Illinois. This replaces the previous all-or-nothing setting with fine-grained control.

Retrain Landing Page for Expired Trainings
When a training expires, the retrain email now links to a dedicated page that displays all available options based on user permissions and company settings. Options may include using credits, assigning via subscription, purchasing from the marketplace, or contacting an administrator.

Course Management

All Documents View for Course Versions
Administrators can now view every downloadable document across all pages within a course version in a single consolidated list, with live-search filtering by filename.

Course Image Modal Viewer
Clicking a course image now opens it in a fullscreen modal instead of a new browser tab, providing a cleaner and more controlled viewing experience.

Company Administration

User Type Filter
The company users list now includes a dropdown filter to quickly narrow users by role (Student, Facility Admin, Company Admin, etc.), making it easier to manage large organizations.

Editor & Content

Upgraded Rich Text Editor
The content editor has been upgraded from Trix to Lexxy. The new editor provides cleaner HTML output, markdown shortcut support, and an improved overall editing experience for course authors.

Under the Hood

PDF Generation Reliability
Fixed an issue where PDF certificate and invoice generation could fail due to harmless warnings being treated as errors.

Shopping Cart Stability
Resolved a crash that could occur when viewing cart items associated with a deleted facility.

Legacy Invoice Fixes
Older invoices without associated orders now display gracefully instead of causing errors.
