Employee Spotlight: Cory

By Holly Westerfield

Muncie, IN – Cory has been working with PASS for a total of five years now. He primarily works with PASS Tools, but he will occasionally help with customer support or training as well. He currently works from his home in Marion.

This week we spoke with Cory about his role at PASS and his hobbies outside of work.

What do you do?

As the PASS Tools Analyst, my job is to basically be the PASS Tools expert, especially for inspections and service plans. I update, improve, and create new inspections. I do that by researching the different forms and requirements individual states have, and then I apply that knowledge to PASS Tools.

What do you like most about your job?

I like that it’s a challenge. It requires me to use my imagination to come up with solutions. I like that it allows me to create and exercise my brain.

How has PASS helped you in your career development?

I think it has really helped me improve my interpersonal communication skills. I can be pretty introverted in my day-to-day life, and this position has really helped push me out of that comfort zone and improve on those skills.

What is the favorite part about working for PASS?

One of the coolest things is being able to go to trade shows. I’ve been to Vegas twice.

If you could switch your job with anyone else within PASS, whose job would you want?

No one, I like the job I have!

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

Play with my son and spend time with my family. I used to play more video games, but recently my wife and I have been playing a lot of board games in the evenings. We will go outside and play Trivial Pursuit, Yahtzee, Phase Ten, or some other card game and just enjoy the nice weather.

Favorite movie genre?

Horror, comedy, or horror comedies.
